William Allen White Book Award
The William Allen White Award was created in 1952 to honor the memory of William Allen White, a lifelong editor for the Emporia Gazette. Each year 9-10 books are nominated for the award in grades 3-5 and in grades 6-8. Students are required to read or hear at least 2 of the books in order to be eligible to vote. Voting takes place in the spring. If students read all of the books throughout the year, they will be invited to a pizza party in the library!
